A fine artist, working in Birmingham, Melissa has been painting pieces of astonishing artwork all her life. The approach she has towards her artwork is characterized by deep personal exploration, combining historical events with the present.
Childhood
Looking at the past
Melissa has always loved art, the first time that she ever showed an interest in painting was from a very early age, whilst others wanted to be doctors, nurses or hairdressers Melissa clearly remembers telling her teachers that she wanted to be an artist.

"I remember the excitement of creating a piece of artwork just so I could take it into school to get a headteachers award, it wasn't to get praised about the painting I'd do it just to get the gold sticker."

Thinking about the future
Melissa's paintings have continued to evolve and Melissa has become one of Britain’s most successful young artist and she is currently exhibiting throughout the UK and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. Melissa has also been taking commission work from clients worldwide, which then she includes the painting into her gallery as a representation of happiness and inspiration she is giving to people all over the world.
INSPIRATION
"Whenever I create a piece of artwork I don't just do it for fun, I do it because I want to tell people how I feel, I find art a way of expressing myself. People ask me all the time what's your inspiration? I say it's the world and everything on it! It's the things that gets lost underneath the big headlines that I want to bring back to the surface again."
